Greenland Orchard Journal

Our Nursery Roots and Independent Journal

We started Greenland Orchard Journal after years of planting fruit plots across London and finding that mass-produced saplings often withered in local soils. Most commercial distributors rely on imported, unverified stock grown in overheated polytunnels with chemical stimulants. We decided to build a closed breeding fund, propagating trees exclusively from our own mother trees, hardy stones, and calibrated seeds.

Every seedling variety we write about has spent its formative seasons outdoors in living loam, subjected to London frosts, wind, and dry spells. Before publishing any field guide, we test each pruning method, soil amendment, and root-training technique on our own nursery grounds. Nothing appears in our pages unless our own hands have proven it works.

We keep our journal completely independent from commercial equipment brands and chemical suppliers. Readers pay for our printed folios directly using simple bank transfer or cash upon parcel arrival. We inspect every copy individually at our Greenland Street workshop, wrapping it securely in paper and moss to reach your garden bench in pristine condition.

How We Grow and Share Knowledge

Own Nursery Foundation

All recommendations come from varieties propagated inside our private breeding collection.

Honest Soil Practices

We test our trees in natural London loam without heavy commercial peat mixtures.

Clear Step Instructions

Every pruning and grafting article gives exact measurements that any gardener can follow.

Calibrated Stone Selection

Our germination logs track seed weight and density across several consecutive cold months.

Independent Reader Focus

We accept no corporate sponsorships or paid promotional articles from commercial nurseries.

Tested Pruning Techniques

Our crown forming diagrams are drawn directly from healthy, mature orchard rows.

Our Seedling Standards

We sort all harvested seeds by weight and density before cold stratification. Every printed guide and planting pack is checked by hand in our workshop before dispatch.

Closed Pedigree Sourcing

We grow parent stock exclusively in our own nursery beds. This guarantees complete traceability from mother tree to seed.

Living Soil First

We work without chemical stimulants or sterile growth sponges. Natural loam and aged leaf mould prepare plants for real soil conditions.

Honest Field Records

We print exact failure rates and stratification times alongside our successes. Genuine gardening advice requires clear and transparent reporting.
